Pauoa Valley is in Honolulu, Hawaii in the Nu’uanu Valley, and Pauoa Bay is on Big Island.
My Grandfather Gabby was born in Hilo (Big Island) and grew up in Kaka’ako (O’ahu).
The mele (song) composed by Charles Edward King (January 29, 1874 – February 27, 1950) is “Pauoa Liko Ka Lehua”.
Charles E King was mixed, of Hawaiian ancestry. He graduated from Kamehameha schools a few years before the 3rd and last Overthrow. He was a musical prodigy of Queen Lydia Lili’uokalani. His list of musical compositions is impressive.
